Information

Joyce DiDonato returns to the Teatro Real in an interesting Baroque concert “In War & Peace". In her search for harmony through music, the versatile North American mezzosoprano reflects on the dualities which all humans experience and which become part of our universal history: desperation and hope, horror and happiness, chaos and tranquility. Throughout time, composers have witnessed and narrated these fundamental experiences and Joyce DiDonato will describe some of these through the music of, among others, Purcell and Händel. She will be accompanied by one of the most important Baroque ensembles of the moment, "Il Pomo d’Oro" with Maxim Emelyanychev conducting from the harpsichord.
